This role involves managing property accounting functions, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and process improvements while collaborating with various departments and third-party service providers. Reporting to the Fund Controller, this role is poised for exceptional career growth.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead the third-party accounting team and manage monthly close processes.
Prepare accurate financial reports, including NCREIF and MSCI.
Develop and document property accounting policies.
Prepare the annual budgeting and CAM reconciliation processes.
Ensure compliance with accounting policies and improve processes.
Oversee the onboarding of new properties and handle ad hoc projects.
Review management fees, payables, and construction draws.
Coordinate tax preparations and liaise with external auditors.
Provide training and guidance to accounting personnel.
What Makes a Great Candidate:
Bachelor’s degree in accounting with a CPA or on the path to obtaining a CPA.
5+ years of experience in real estate or public accounting.
Strong analytical and technical skills.
Managerial experience, ideally over a property accounting team.
Experience in the industrial sector and asset management is a plus.
