Promontory is currently operating two championship courses and a third 18-hole par 3 course. The courses include The Pete Dye Canyon course, The Jack Nicklaus Painted Valley Signature course, and the 18-hole par 3 course designed by Forrest Richardson. The Hills course also features a full driving range, teaching academy and 18-hole putting course.
We are seeking a Superintendent to oversee the operations of the Pete Dye Canyon course. The individual will report to the Director of Agronomy who oversees the three courses.
Essential Duties –
Ensuring the playability of the course at the standards set for a Pete Dye course.
Recruit, train and supervise the golf maintenance staff.
Conducting the morning job assignments and meetings.
Execute the daily and weekly schedules for the crew.
Work as a team with the golf professionals creating cooperation for tournaments, daily play, and general course conditions.
Assist with safety programs, training, and record keeping
Assist in the budgeting process and financial evaluations.
Oversee fertilizer and chemical applications.
Managing the irrigation and water conservation initiatives.
Must have a strong working knowledge of mower operations, utility carts, tractor, spreaders, irrigation systems and small equipment.
Coordinate with the Equipment Manager to repair, clean, paint, and refurbish equipment.
Winter work consists of snow removal and equipment maintenance projects.
Bilingual in Spanish a plus
Must have 2-year or 4-year degree in turf grass management along with five plus years in operations and supervision.
Base Salary of $85,000 - $100,000 based on experience & education, and is benefit-eligible for health, dental, life and vision insurance. This position is also eligible for participation in the company’s annual discretionary bonus program.
