Project Safety Manager

Thalle Construction Co., Inc. (“Thalle”) is currently seeking a Project Safety Manager. The Project Safety Manager will report to the Vice President of Safety Management and work closely with and support the operations team. This role will interact with a variety of staff at all levels and uphold a high level of professionalism and confidentiality. This position is located out of our regional office in Terrell, Texas.

Thalle, established in 1947, is a heavy civil construction company with a corporate office in Hillsborough, NC and a regional office in Alvarado, Texas. Thalle has construction projects throughout the South East, Texas, and New Jersey with growth nationwide. Job Title: Project Safety Manager

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

Overall responsible for full time on-site safety and occupational health management for the project. This personal shall be designated as ‘competent’ and will provide safety direction and adherence to all safety regulations and programs including coaching, training, visibility, gaining and maintaining trust, and building a culture of personal awareness and accountability.

• Conducts daily inspections and maintains safety documentation at the corporate and job site level.
• Conducts incident investigations and maintains OSHA 300 forms.
• Attends construction progress meetings.
• Maintains a tracking system to monitor identified deficiencies and implements plans to ensure resolution.
• Researches, analyzes, documents, and provides ongoing advice to site management to ensure all tasks are performed safely.
• Ensures subcontractor compliance with safety and health requirements.
• Schedules and executes safety training and tool talks.
• Conducts business with 100% integrity and professionalism.
  
  

Education And/or Work Experience Requirements

• 2 years of Safety Management experience required.
• Experience in heavy civil construction industry a plus.
• OSHA 500 Trainer
• HAZMAT 40
• SST 62
• Confined space experience preferred.
• CHST
• 40 Site Safety Managers Class.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Demonstrated ability to form excellent working relationships with all levels of employment.
• Excellent organizational skills.
• Ability to multitask and work independently under pressure and tight deadlines.
• Strong attention to detail.
  
  

Physical Requirements

• Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards.
