Recruiter with a particular set of skills, skills acquired over a very long career. Skills that make me a good recruiter for you. I will find you the best candidate for your open role. And you will hire them.

New advertisement for UA - Also someone asked me what set us apart earlier and my response was simply - "we aren't morons and we hunt" Thinking about making that the mission statement

Decoding 'Minimum Requirements': What Job Seekers Really Need to Know I rarely see this defined. Just one group saying "if you're close apply" and another group saying "in this market, don't apply if unless you hit all of the minimum required and desired" First of all lets define them They're in the part that says "Required skills" In tech that's going to be things like your tech stack and amount of years with those skills In other industries it's typically things like "experience with Salesforce" or 3 years selling blah blah blah but also it includes: the onsite, hybrid or remote work setting. if you can't work onsite, and the job is onsite, you don't meet that minimum requirement Citizenship - Some companies will not sponsor a visa. being a citizen becomes a requirement you will need to hit Geographic location - Some companies are not set up in certain states, a lot of times NY and CA and they elect to make the location a minimum requirement. I find that the larger the company, the more strictly they adhere to these requirements. Smaller companies are the ones that tend to bend a little bit on those requirements but typically NONE bend on citizenship, geographic location or work setting. Recruiters typically know where they can make some exceptions. They also know where the decision makers will not budge and we reflect that in our posts. "shooting your shot" should be a shot you have at least practiced for. Hail Mary's don't work in this market. Hopefully this helps. Richie #recruiterlife

Sales leaders - it's worth noting that 2 of our last 5 AE placements were recruiters transitioning out of recruiting. If you want hustlers on the phone, find some great recruiters that are trying to break out of TA work

I'm seeing lots of advice about matching keywords to your resume so you can "beat the ATS". Make sure when doing this that you can actually talk about your experience with those skillsets in an interview should it work.. Just sayin.

Meetings to see what people are working on. Meetings to tell people what to work on. Meetings to catch up. Nah, our recruiting team is beyond elite and don't need to keep talking about what to do. We just do it. DM me if you want to get your open roles filled with great people that have the skills you need and culture fit you want.

400+ applicants to your open job isn't a flex. A flex is having a spot that you were able to fill under a month with the right team and knowing what you were looking for with a streamlined process... Sure if people were applying to your company because they knew it was awesome and they really wanted the job based on what you and your team is building that would be amazing. But that's not the case. People are applying because that little blue easy apply is just so damn tempting. If it's me, I want to interview people that have been screened fully, including being somewhat educated on what my company actually does and what we're doing right and who we need to hire to do better. Not the people that kind of looked right from the top part of the filter on our linkedin job posting that our TA team was able to get through. We work with your internal teams to find the best fit for you. We still post jobs and we still filter through to make sure we use every tool available. but we are also a tactical search that you can point like friggen Harry Potter wand and "accio" the people you want for your team. So you can keep flexing those apps that are by and large just a mess more confusing than when I was a kid and my mom put all the leftover stuff in the fridge together in a pot, heated it and called it goulash Or you can save time and money by using a recruiting agency that actually gives a shit about their craft. Happy Tuesday Richie #recruiterlife

Today at 3pm EST Shaun Hervey and me are doing a Linkedin Event. We're going to talk about some stuff. Recruiters that do some personal branding should show up and hang out on the mic with me because Shaun might be late and even though I CAN talk for 60 minutes about nothing, I shouldn't Also if you want to find out how much money I made off my post that hit 1.8 million impressions, I'll be talking about that and what I've already purchased with the money Linkedin paid me...
