About The Opportunity

JOB SUMMARY:

The Project Manager will support the Project Management Office by advising, consulting, and guiding the project management process for mid- to large-scale administrative, academic, and research projects across the university. This role requires close collaboration with stakeholders to define project scope, schedule, and budget, as well working closely with teams to define, document and prioritize tasks.

Strong organizational and project coordination skills, along with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, are essential.

Responsibilities Include

  • Collaborate with project sponsors and stakeholders to assess project business cases against divisional goals and criteria.
  • Define project scope and objectives in collaboration with relevant stakeholders.
  • Break down complex projects into phases that prioritize delivery, decision-making and are clearly articulated in project documentation.
  • Monitor and track project progress, report performance using appropriate tools and techniques.
  • Formally manage changes to project scope, schedule, and budget.
  • Identify and manage project risks, escalating issues to stakeholders as needed.
  • Ensure all projects are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget.


Minimum Qualifications

  • Demonstrated expertise in successful and effective project management documentation, including charters, project plans, status reports, risk assessments, quality metrics, and change control.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills as evidenced in agenda-building, meeting facilitation, meeting notes, action items and stakeholder management.
  • Proven experience with various project management concepts, practices, and procedures, particularly in education or startup environments.
  • Strong organizational skills, including attention to detail and multitasking abilities across multiple projects.
  • Proficiency in planning and tracking projects using Smartsheet and other relevant software.
  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • At least 3 years of experience leading complex projects in an academic setting or a similar environment.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
