Job Description

Principal Technology Architect (Infrastructure)

Exciting Opportunity at MSK

We are seeking a Principal Technology Architect to join our Enterprise Technology Services Department where you will work on a large and growing infrastructure platform that is essential for MSK's Digital Transformation Program. In this role, you will lead and participate in our expanding platform evaluation and decisions. Our aim is to provide an ecosystem that supports MSK's development community and our various vendor solutions. We are looking for experienced engineers with relevant skills to help us modernize our infrastructure with new scalable architectures using new datacenter and cloud technologies (AWS and Azure).

Role Overview:

  • Extensive experience and knowledge in Infrastructure Architecture and Strategy (on-prem and cloud), leading the Cloud governance practice
  • A product owner for Secrets Vault with experience in engineering, implementing and supporting secrets vault solution. Experience in Hashicorp Secrets Vault is a plus.
  • Promote an automation-first mindset while building our hybrid cloud services and frameworks using infrastructure-as-code technologies such as AWS CloudFormation, Azure ARM Templates and Terraform.
  • Deliver high-quality solutions cloud and on-premises, prioritizing security and instrumentation while optimizing for development speed and flexibility.
  • Advocate and promote continuous improvement processes for the datacenter infrastructure and cloud platforms by applying knowledge of the latest cloud technologies, industry trends and through collaboration with team members, external vendors, and internal MSK teams.
  • Increase efficiency and effectiveness of our hybrid cloud service offerings, ensuring cloud-based infrastructure support issues are resolved in a timely, transparent, and consistent manner.
  • Establish technology architectures, standards, test plans, design templates and governance controls. Build common framework & libraries to promote code re-use leveraging inner-sourcing where possible.
  • Work with individual teams to do design reviews and code reviews and help them formulate designs and approaches to solve for known and emerging challenges

Key Qualifications:

  • Strong leadership skills with a proven ability to facilitate cross-functional team collaboration
  • 10+ years of experience in Infrastructure Strategy and Architecture
  • 5+ years’ experience with Infrastructure as Code or software defined infrastructure solutions
  • Experience in Private and Public cloud designs that focus on resiliency, high availability, and security
  • 5+ years building cloud native architectures, serverless architectures, architecting enterprise applications on public cloud platforms
  • Deep technical knowledge of cloud offerings in AWS or Azure in areas related to networking, security, DevOps, operations, monitoring, alerting, storage, databases and compute.
  • 5+ years’ experience with at least one infrastructure-as-code technology and preferable one programming language (e.g., Java, .NET, Golang, JavaScript, etc.).
  • 2+ year’s experience in designing, configuring, and managing Secrets Vault solutions.
  • Experience in architecting highly available, scalable and reliable solutions on AWS or Azure cloud infrastructure, including serverless designs using managed cloud services.
  • Developed CI/CD pipelines for release cycle management using tools such as Azure DevOps, GitHub Enterprise Managed Users, GitHub Actions, , etc.
  • Experience working with at least one scripting language such as Python, PowerShell or bash.

Pay Range $145,000 - $239,300
