PLANT MANAGER

Sage V Foods is looking for plant manager with the mechanical and people skills to take ownership of our plant and take us to the next level of plant capacity and operational excellence.

Sage V Foods is a family-owned company located in Little Rock, Ark. We are a fast paced and fast-growing company devoid of bureaucracy. The company produces IQF frozen rice and packages the rice for sale into the retail and food service markets. Sage has its branded products or private label products in almost every grocery store in the country. Many of our products are organic and the company has some of the top selling SKUs in the natural food markets.

The plant utilizes a lot of proprietary equipment and processing systems, is highly automated and full of complicated sophisticated equipment. The plant runs 24/7 and employes about 200 people. The company has a very competent and experienced management team but operates in a work area where turnover of lower paying jobs is higher than desired.

We are investing in new equipment to increase our capacity by about 25%. So, we are looking for a plant manager that has a combination of mechanical/engineering/processing skills along with people skills to lead us through this transition. This is not a turnaround job but is not far from it.

The main responsibility is moving around the plant communicating and coordinating activities and meetings between the various teams in a very fast pace and changing environment.

Salary range is base pay of $180,000 to $200,000 with bonus opportunities to be measured against plant improvement.

Qualifications

Engineering degree or proof of excellent mechanical and industrial processing skills.

10 years of experience in manufacturing plants, at least 100 employees in last job.

Ideally, experience in food manufacturing and food safety.

Ideally experience in frozen food manufacturing plant.

Good people skills and proven leadership skills.

High energy, positive attitude and good work ethic.
