Payroll Clerk
Our client, the world's leading music company, is looking to hire a Payroll Administrator to join their team in Woodland Hills, CA! The Procurement Consultant is responsible for the timely and cost-effective strategic sourcing of complex goods and services in accordance with corporate policies and procedures.
*This is a 3-month contract W2 to start, with the opportunity to extend or convert*
*On-site in Woodland Hills, CA twice a week, then fully remote the other days of the work week*
Responsibilities
- Compile, track, and enter payroll data into the payroll system such as: hours worked, vacation, personal and holiday hours, taxes, and union dues to be withheld
- Follow established procedures to accurately process weekly, bi-weekly and semi-monthly payroll
- Review wage calculations, audit timekeeping records and correct any errors to ensure accuracy of payroll
- Audit new hires, terminations, retro transactions, wage garnishments and tax setup for accuracy
- Validate data concerning pay rate changes, address changes and direct deposit
- Handle sensitive data with discretion to protect employee’s confidential information
- Prepare and issue any manual checks as necessary
- Process, review, and audit automated standard reports to verify accuracy and correct any out of balance transactions as necessary
- Facilitate audit requests, prepare special reports and/or work on special projects as assigned by management
- Support, collaborate and provide guidance to team members on issues and questions concerning payroll related topics
- Resolve payroll questions and time tracking inquires via our People Connect portal ServiceNow
Qualifications
- Experience with Workday Payroll and Time Tracking or similar systems experience preferred
- Fundamental Payroll Professional (FPP) designation preferred
- Ability to multi-task effectively without compromising the quality of the work
- Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills
- Detail oriented, organized, process focused, problem solver, proactive, ambitious, customer service focused
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel
- Significant knowledge of payroll systems, FLSA, Federal and State laws, knowledge, and administration of sound techniques in all aspects of payroll
