Cajun is seeking a Payroll Clerk with at least 3 years of payroll experience to work in Baton Rouge office. The Payroll Clerk compiles data to process weekly payroll and maintains payroll records.
Responsibilities

Enter payroll data such as hours worked, rate increases, change in address and other miscellaneous payroll forms that are sent in by jobsite clerks and employees
Review new hires & rehires from hiring system
Process payroll files and employee time sheets, run and check edits, calculate payroll, print payroll checks and direct deposit stubs.
Create ACH files for direct deposits
Review wages computed and correct errors to ensure accuracy of payroll
Scan & index timesheets and miscellaneous payroll documents
Track vacations and sick leave, verify approved forms
Manage employment verifications
Qualifications
Physical
Occasionally required to lift up to 25 pounds
Regularly required to talk or hear
Frequently required to walk, sit, and reach with hands and arms
Subject to repetitive use of hands/arms
Occasionally required to stand, stoop, kneel, crouch, bend, use hands and fingers to handle and feel
Vision requirements include close vision, distance vision, and ability to adjust focus
Will need to be able to perform sedentary work
Mental
Must have the ability to direct others and communicate effectively with other management/ supervision
Talking and reading & writing comprehension is necessary for giving and receiving directions to perform work and/or safety policy
Ability to use math/complete calculations
Must be able to concentrate amid distractions and remember details
