Insight Global is seeking a Payroll & Benefits Analyst for a healthcare client of ours based in Berkeley, CA to manage payroll processes and employee benefits. As a Payroll & Benefits Analyst, you’ll be responsible for ensuring accurate and timely compensation for employees while also administering benefits programs.


Responsibilities:

- Oversee payroll procedures, including reviewing timesheets and attendance records.

- Prepare and submit necessary paperwork for tax deductions, benefits, and garnishments.

- Analyze compensation-related data, such as wages and bonuses.

- Manage payroll transactions (e.g., via e-banking).

- Conduct regular audits on payroll procedures and records.

- Process benefit costs, such as insurance fees and sick leaves.

- Design and document procedures to streamline payroll processes.

- Maintain payment calendars for the fiscal year.

- Report payroll issues and changes to management.

- Address employee inquiries related to salaries, taxes, and benefits.

- Stay up to date on state and federal payroll and tax laws.

- Administer employee benefits programs, including health insurance, retirement plans, and leave policies.

- Collaborate with HR and finance teams to ensure seamless benefits administration.

- Educate employees on available benefits and assist with enrollment processes.

- Monitor benefits costs and recommend cost-effective solutions.

- Handle benefits-related inquiries and resolve issues promptly.


Requirements:

- 3+ Payroll & Benefits Analyst or similar role.

- Deep knowledge of state and federal payroll and tax regulations, specifically the state of CA.

- Familiarity with benefits administration, including health insurance, retirement plans, and leave policies.

- Hands-on experience with Paycom payroll software.

- Ability to work under tight deadlines.

- Bachelor’s degree in human resources management, Accounting, or a relevant field.


Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education.


Benefit packages for this role will start on the 31st day of employment and include medical, dental, and vision insurance, as well as HSA, FSA, and DCFSA account options, and 401k retirement account access with employer matching. Employees in this role are also entitled to paid sick leave and/or other paid time off as provided by applicable law.
