Job Tittle: Patient Records Abstractor

Location: Remote

Duration: 3 Months

Shift: 8:00am – 5:00pm (Monday - Friday)

Summary

  • Under general supervision performs in depth complex daily CPT, HCPCS, Modifiers, and ICD-10 review of outpatient codes and charges to resolve coding errors and claim edits.
  • Accurately interpret handwritten and typed notes/diagnoses and convert them into CPT/HCPCS/ICD-10 codes and apply appropriate facility modifiers.

Must Have For This Position

  • Candidate must be fully vaccinated + Booster and comfortable to share the vaccination card.
  • Certified Professional Coder (CPC).
  • Must have three (3) years of Outpatient coding experience (ICD-10-CM, CPT, HCPCS, facility Modifiers), and claim edits.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Certified Professional Coder (CPC).
  • Must have three (3) years of Outpatient coding experience (ICD-10-CM, CPT, HCPCS, facility Modifiers), and claim edits.
  • Strong skills in CPT, ICD-10, & HCPCS coding applications.
  • Anatomical pathology coding experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Certified Outpatient Coder (COC).
  • Knowledge of facility LCD, NCD, and NCCI edits and how to interpret.
  • EPIC and 3M preferred.
