Position
The Patient Education Manager (PEM) plays a crucial role within our Patient Services and Support organization. This field-based position focuses on educating patients and caregivers about disease states, product education, and patient service capabilities using approved materials.
Responsibilities
Deliver disease state and product education to empower patients and caregivers throughout their treatment journey.
Educate healthcare professionals, including physicians, nurses, and office staff, on brand(s) and their indications.
Serve as a liaison with advocacy groups and access teams to address patient-specific needs.
Collaborate cross-functionally to enhance patient education strategies and materials.
Conduct in-person and webinar education programs for patients, families, and caregivers.
Provide timely responses to customer inquiries, offering education and triaging to available resources.
Ensure compliance with healthcare industry regulations and company policies.
Contribute advocacy insights to Corporate Affairs teams at regional and local levels.
Contribute to multidisciplinary team approaches for successful company/disease launches.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree from an accredited University or College required.
Advanced scientific training or clinical acumen (Registered Nurse required).
Knowledge and experience with genetic conditions highly desirable.
5+ years of experience in supporting patients within Rare Disease; 2+ years in a field-based role in the biopharmaceutical industry preferred.
Proven track record of achieving or exceeding objectives.
Familiarity with US reimbursement processes and the insurance landscape.
Experience In Product Launches Preferred.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across diverse teams.
Ability to travel up to 70% as needed.
Creative problem-solving skills with a results-driven mindset.
Passion for patient care and meticulous attention to compliance with policies and procedures.
