Summary
The Watertown Public Schools seeks an outstanding part-time registrar to manage the student registration process-district wide, ensuring that students and families are welcomed warmly and efficiently.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
This position requires the ability to sit at a computer screen entering data for extended periods of time.
Sensory Requirements
Most tasks require visual perception and the ability to distinguish color. The employee must be able to input information into a computer as well as read material from a computer monitor as well as printed matter with or without visual aids. The employee must be able to communicate effectively with other staff members in order to exchange accurate information.
Work Environment
The noise level in this environment ranges from quiet to loud depending on the activity and the particular part of the day and location. The employee interacts with other staff members and occasionally must meet multiple demands from several people.

Summary
The Watertown Public Schools seeks an outstanding part-time registrar to manage the student registration process-district wide, ensuring that students and families are welcomed warmly and efficiently.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Works with the Accountability Data Manager to manage student data within the student information system (SIS)
- Registers students across the district (this may include several evenings for parents)
- Verifies residency and birth records as well as any other document required by the state
- Assists with enrollment and scheduling of all students
- Receives, screens and processes telephone calls, visitors and correspondence pertaining to student registration matters
- Maintains all official, computerized student registers. This may include, but is not limited to, entry and verification of data for initial registration, address and telephone changes, guardianship, language, birth certificate, emergency info, withdrawals, transfers and student absence tracking for incentive awards, truancy referrals and daily data transmission
- Obtains SASIDs for newly enrolled students from the DESE via the security portal
- Serves as a liaison to appropriate services for newly enrolled students. (ie. Food services, ELL, Special Education, Homeless, Transportation, etc)
- Coordinates with building-based staff to improve the registration, enrollment and scheduling workflow(s)
- Prepares mass mailings and automated calls
- Provide clerical support to the district Records Access Officer (RAO)
- Provide administrative/clerical support to Central Office staff as needed when not working in the role of the Registrar of Students
- Candidate will work to complete english learner phone screenings and placement testing
- Fluent in Portuguese or Spanish (preferred)
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Familiarity with MS Office applications (Word, Excel) and GoogleApps for Education
- Associate’s Degree (preferred)
- Experience working with a student information system
