Part-Time Clinician

Position Summary: Are you passionate about caring for our community’s most vulnerable children and improving the systems that support their healing and growth? Join our team as a Part-Time Clinician at ChildSavers, a 100-year-old organization dedicated to the highest quality of care. This role offers a unique opportunity to affect change in children's lives through our Outpatient and School-Based Services. You will work within a clinical team, focusing on developing specialized treatment theories and skills that match our local community's needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver psychotherapeutic clinical care and case management as outlined in DBHDS and DMAS regulations.
  • Develop and implement Individual, Family, and Group treatment interventions.
  • Provide direct therapeutic care, including group therapy, case collaboration, and team coverage.
  • Maintain compliance with all funding source regulations and documentation requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with all local, State, and Federal regulatory requirements, including licensure, HIPAA, Medicaid, Department of Social Services, LHRC, and other professional standards.
  • Work under the direction of a Program Supervisor and in close collaboration with the Mental Health Leadership Team.
  • Report clinical and other concerns to your clinical supervisor and/or management team as outlined in policy.
  • Conduct intake assessments and assign diagnoses as clinically indicated.
  • Collaborate effectively with colleagues to ensure client care aligns with policy and procedure.
  • Maintain certifications in behavior management training and CPR/FA, and perform these duties as needed.
  • Represent ChildSavers positively and professionally, participating in meetings and working with community partners.
  • Adhere to all ChildSavers policies and procedures and complete additional tasks as assigned.
  • Submit hour verification timely to ensure semi-monthly compensation.


Minimum Qualifications:

  • Master’s Degree in Social Work, Sociology, Psychology, or a related human services field with experience working with children from a Trauma Informed Care Perspective.
  • Experience with ChildSavers mental health service areas, including Outpatient Therapy, Crisis Intervention, and Trauma Response. Specialized modalities include Art Therapy, Sand Tray Therapy, Animal-Assisted Play Therapy, Play Therapy CCPT, Attachment Work, and CBT.
  • Licensure by the Board of Health Professions to practice in VA is strongly preferred.
  • Valid Commonwealth of VA Driver’s License and insurable to drive a company vehicle.
  • Other requirements as assigned by DMAS and/or licensure standards.


Physical Demands and Work Environment:

  • Ability to lift 25+ pounds.
  • Ability to perform CPR and First Aid at all times.
  • Ability to remain at a desk or workstation for long periods while delivering telehealth sessions.
  • Effective communication skills for teamwork, including speaking, listening, and using communication devices.
  • Complex problem-solving, critical thinking, and attention to detail.
