The American Red Cross Fundraising business unit is engaged in a cross-functional effort to assess end-to-end business processes and enabling systems and data related to gift processing to identify opportunities for improvement in several areas: operational efficiency, donor and workforce experience, risk management, business agility, and revenue retention and growth.
We are seeking a contract Service Designer to facilitate discovery and development of a comprehensive service blueprint, which will service as a key artifact to drive prioritization and decision making for proposed projects to address key pain points and delivery targeted value.
You ll use design thinking skills to uncover collective knowledge of process, systems, and pain points from multiple business and technology teams to produce a unified view of the front and backstage actions and end-to-end journey for processing gifts received from multiple channels.
Job Description ?Responsibilities:
Facilitate discovery interviews and workshops with technology, product, and business stakeholders to uncover the end-to-end business and technology processes as well as donor experience for processing gifts from multiple channels.
Document a comprehensive service blueprint in LucidChart using common design best practices.
Validate accuracy and completeness of information documented in the service blueprint with key stakeholders
Facilitate categorization and prioritization of documented pain points as potential problems-to-be-solved.
Qualifications
Education: Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
Experience: Minimum 3 years of related experience in one or more of the following areas:
Service design and/or product design for digital experiences
Business Analyst with a focus on complex business process and business applications and software
Documenting and visualizing business processes, customer journey maps, and technology system high level architectures
Facilitating design and discovery workshops and stakeholder interviews with business and technology stakeholders
Skills & Abilities
Proficiency with LucidChart strongly preferred
Prior exposure to fundraising operations and concepts is a plus but not required
Travel: Work will be conducted 100% remotely (US-based, most work is done in Eastern Time zone normal business hours M-F.) Some individual work on document refinement can be done during non-standard hours.
