Bilingual Operations Assistant Supervisor

Job Summary:

The Bilingual Operations Assistant Supervisor plans and manages the day-to-day allocation of resources for designated shift (equipment, people, materials, and systems) to efficiently, safely and cost effectively achieve performance targets as agreed with Production Management. They also ensure that a high quality of products, services, housekeeping, and hygiene standards are maintained and improved in the area; review daily achievement of targets and report variances; and coach, mentor and develop team members to meet current and future business requirements.

Key Accountabilities:

Safety

  • Adheres to all plant safety rules.
  • Reports all near misses and accidents to management and or HR representative.
  • Serves an active role the plant safety programs, by participating in monthly safety inspections and reporting any potential safety hazards to the safety committee or Management.

Quality:

  • Adheres to all Quality Assurance System guidelines.
  • Ensures SOP’s and SSOP’s (standard operating procedures and sanitation standard operating procedures) are being followed when making processing adjustments, to ensure high-quality products are being packaged.
  • Responsible for compliance with GMP’s, HACCP and SQF programs.
  • Accurately prepares and maintains processing area documentation. Writing legibly and completely filling out all documents.

Communications:

  • Ensures effective communication and teamwork with others.
  • Possess strong intrapersonal communication skills. e.g., conflict resolution
  • Maintains effective communication with members and all departments.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • Manages employees on a production shift and production priorities.
  • Is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of assigned shift.
  • Ensure effective employee relations.
  • Provide employee coaching and development.
  • Resolve employee issues through problem resolution.
  • Manage production line performance measures and provide regular progress reports to managers.
  • Track absenteeism and timekeeping.
  • Oversees the management of shift production personnel including appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; and documenting all safety/accident incidents.

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Ability to use critical thinking to plan and problem-solve.
  • Outstanding verbal, written, and multi-tasking skills. Bilingual in Spanish is required.

Additional Considerations:

  • Location: This position will be in-person in Ventura, CA.
  • Shift: This will be a day shift position 7am – 3:30pm Monday-Saturday (OT)
  • Work Environment: Approximately; 95% of the work is performed in a production environment; 5% of work may be performed in an office environment.
