We are searching for an enthusiastic Online Programs Instructor to join our team. In this role, you will primarily focus on teaching elementary and middle school students in a dynamic virtual math course (grades 5 - 8).
Responsibilities
Conduct live, interactive virtual classes daily, offering engaging instruction tailored to elementary or middle school math students in the US Virgin Islands.
Facilitate synchronous group sessions for collaborative learning and individual meetings with students, parents, teachers, and administrators to provide personalized support.
Monitor student progress, offering guidance and assistance to ensure the achievement of learning objectives.
Utilize educational technologies such as Moodle, Zoom, Teams, and email to foster effective communication and collaboration.
Provide timely feedback on coursework and assessments, maintaining open lines of communication with students and their families.
Collaborate closely with program leadership, instructors, and on-site educators to optimize student learning experiences.
Participate in curriculum development, offering insights and assistance in creating materials for academically talented students.
Additional Responsibilities
Assist in the development and enhancement of course materials, contributing to curriculum updates and new course initiatives.
Support program managers in addressing course-related issues and training fellow instructors as needed.
Ensure compliance with university policies and participate in mandatory training programs related to child abuse prevention.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in mathematics or related field from an accredited institution.
Two years of relevant experience in teaching or tutoring students in 3rd grade through middle school, either online or in traditional classroom settings.
Strong written and verbal communication skills, with a focus on professionalism and student-centered communication.
Proficiency in using technology for communication and instruction.
Preferred Qualifications
Master's Degree in mathematics or mathematics education preferred.
Experience working with diverse student populations.
Familiarity with online education platforms such as Moodle, Teams, and Zoom is advantageous.
