Job Responsibilities
- Provides skilled occupational therapy treatment plans in accordance with physician orders, current standards of care and by assessing and interpreting evaluations and test results of patients.
- Design and fabricate splints to protect and improve patient function.
- Assures continuation of therapeutic plan following discharge by designing home exercise programs; instructing patients, recommending and/or providing assistive equipment; recommending follow-up programs.
- Promptly and thoroughly documents and maintains clinical and administrative records regarding patient limitations/interventions, treatments, responses and progress to administered therapy as well as discharge summaries.
- Maintain patient records confidentially.
- Records treatment charges daily and completes charge tickets in accurate and timely manner.
- Provides direction to Occupational Therapy Assistants and Therapy Aides with patient care and related activities as requested.
- Complies with the Georgia State Occupational Therapy Act, codes and regulations.
- Must be able to recognize and respond appropriately to urgent/emergent situations per protocols.
- Maintain work area, exam rooms and supplies.
- Maintain professional appearance and personal conduct at all times.
- Follows all of the Company’s policies and procedures.
- Adhere to employer work practices as described in TDC Occupational Blood Born Exposure Plan policy.
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships with physicians, staff and management.
- Keep regular clinic hours as approved by Manager.
- Attends meetings as requested.
- Provides back up for administrative staff to include answering phones, scheduling appointments and checking in patients.
- Able to Provide CHT hand services
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in healthcare or similar
- Gradate from an accredited physical therapy program
- Specialty Certification, Certified Hand Therapist
- Current State of Georgia Occupational Therapy license or eligible to receive one
- Current CPR certification for Health Care Providers
- Knowledge of CPT and ICD-10 coding procedures
- Thorough knowledge of occupational therapy principles and practices
- Ability to build trust with physicians and co-workers
- Ability to keep a positive attitude in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to work as part of a team
- Must be able to work independently
- Must be detailed oriented
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skill
- Strong sense of discretion and professionalism
- Certified Hand Therapist certification
