About The Role
We are currently seeking a Remote Nutritionist for the Northeast Health District WIC Office. This role involves providing clinic coverage for twelve health departments as needed. You will plan and conduct nutritional programs to promote family health and control obesity, provide health education, nutritional assessments, breastfeeding education, and counseling. You will also serve as a resource for referrals to family planning, immunization, and other Health Department and community programs.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct initial WIC assessments and develop client-centered nutrition care plans.
Provide medical nutrition therapy based on referrals.
Lead nutrition classes for clients.
Coordinate client services and referrals with appropriate agencies.
Participate in case plan reviews and interdisciplinary team meetings.
Develop and approve nutrition education materials.
Offer initial counseling to high-risk participants.
Educate Mothers On Breastfeeding, Nutrition, And Parenting Skills.
Monitor children's growth and development, referring them to specialists as needed.
Provide individualized nutrition counseling for various health concerns.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in dietetics, human nutrition, foods and nutrition, nutrition education, food systems management, or a related field from an accredited college or university.
Verification statement of completion of a didactic program accredited by The Academy of Nutrition & Dietetics.
Must submit a copy of the verification statement and transcripts with the application.
Reliable internet service for remote work.
Compensation
$30.00 per hour (This position is not benefit eligible).
