KTVB, the TEGNA-owned NBC affiliate in Boise, ID is looking for a highly-skilled, artistic News Editor who can create exciting content for television, social media, and digital platforms.

We seek an Editor who can visualize great stories with our award-winning team of journalists. You must be a self-starter who is technologically savvy and can work under tight deadlines.

Responsibilities

  • Utilize the latest broadcast editing software to assemble visually compelling news stories
  • Produce content for broadcast television and digital platforms
  • Understand basic, creative, and advanced editing techniques and when to use them
  • Be willing and capable of editing a variety of news topics, including breaking, general, sports, feature, investigative, and political stories
  • Participate in daily editorial meetings and periodically pitch enterprise story ideas
  • Maintain professional broadcasting equipment in clean, working order
  • Meet strict deadlines each day

Requirements

  • 1-3 years of professional video editing experience is preferred
  • Ability to interact professionally among a team of journalists during stressful situations
  • An active interest in broadcast news with an understanding of the core principles of ethical journalism
  • Demonstrate good time management skills, punctuality and reliability
  • Organizational skills with the ability to work productively under constant deadlines
  • Ability to remain calm during breaking news and ever-changing workload
  • Ability to demonstrate creativity and willingness to learn new skills
