Network Engineer

Job Description: Network Controller/Engineer

Location: Fort Worth, TX

Long term contract

CornerStone TTS is looking for a skilled Network Controller/Engineer to monitor and manage infrastructure in a dynamic 24/7/365 Network Operations Center (NOC) environment. This position requires 50% onsite work and is intended to be a long-term assignment, subject to change.

Responsibilities:

• Monitor Infrastructure: Use CA Spectrum and other tools to oversee network and telecommunications systems.
• Provide Support: Offer tier I and/or tier II network support, escalating issues as necessary.
• Incident Management: Manage incidents of all severity levels, aiming for a Mean Time to Repair (MTTR) of two hours for Severity 2 incidents. Assist and/or lead outage bridges when needed.
• Customer Interaction: Take inbound support calls from internal campus and field customers.
• Incident Documentation: Create and manage incidents and tasks via ServiceNow, including working with problem and change requests. Record detailed and accurate customer and problem information.

Requirements:

• Shift Flexibility: Must be able to work any assigned shift in a 24/7/365 environment, including weekends and holidays. Flexibility with changing shifts is required.
• Incident Management: Experience with Remedy Incident Management.
• Network Engineering Experience: Relevant job-related experience in network engineering.
• Communication Skills: Proficient in typing, with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Problem Solving: Independent problem solver with strong decision-making abilities under pressure.
• Troubleshooting Skills: Solid understanding of network fundamentals and concepts.

Preferred Experience:

• Certifications: Cisco CCNA and/or practical experience with Cisco technology.
• Technologies: Experience with SDWAN, Big Switch, Silver Peak.
• Telecommunications: Knowledge in telecommunications, RF, microwave, and Wi-Fi.
• Industry Experience: Familiarity with the railroad industry.
• Service Desk Experience: Ability to thrive in a fast-paced service desk environment.
