Network Engineer

Required Skills:

3+ years' experience working as a Network Engineer

3+ years of firewall experience, specifically Palo Alto

Strong knowledge and experience supporting, troubleshooting, monitoring and maintaining Cisco data and wireless networks, VPN, IPSEC, SEC

Must have proactive, clear communication skills

Ability to work independently but seek out additional work as tasks are completed

Must have strong analytical and problem-solving skills, someone who is resourceful

Passionate about learning new things

Experience working with an enterprise network monitoring tool such as Solarwinds

Must have a thorough understanding of TCP/IP, LAN Switching, Routing protocols, L2/L3, device configuration, VLAN, ACL, and security best practices

Understanding of QoS (Quality of Service) and all the mechanisms required for QoS in both the LAN/WAN and Wireless environment

Proficient knowledge of Enterprise LANs, WANs, Disaster Recovery and High Availability

Must be able to read and create network diagrams

Desired Skills:

Ideal candidate would have experience supporting, troubleshooting, monitoring and maintaining Cisco Meraki data, SDWAN and wireless networks

Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field

CCNA or CCNP certification

Ideal candidate would understand how to connect data centers to one another

PKI enabled infrastructure experience

F5 Load Balancers

Cisco, Checkpoint and Palo Alto Firewall experience

CCNP Certification

Cisco networking hardware including routers and switches, routing protocols (BGP, EIGRP)

Cisco wireless network experience

General knowledge of VoIP best practices and concepts.

Description of Role/Responsibilities/Project:

We are seeking a Network Engineer for our global client who has an enterprise WAN with over 700 network devices and all new networking equipment. In this role you will be responsible for performing network engineering and technical troubleshooting required to support and maintain an enterprise class network. The ideal candidate would have experience supporting Cisco Meraki routers and switches for both data and wireless networks. To be successful you must be a proactive communicator and self-motivated. The ideal candidate will have experience building, troubleshooting, and maintaining Palo Alto Firewalls, VPN site to site connections, Meraki, and understand how to create and read network diagrams.
