Your role and responsibilities

The ideal candidate will be in one of the following locations: New Berlin (US), Helsinki (FI), Beijing

(CN), Bangalore (IN)

As Motion Drive Products (MODP) Division, Information System (IS) Manager, you lead IS Function

for the MODP Division, you develop and implement the Division IS strategy & architecture, in

alignment with the Division and IS function strategies.

You ensures effective IS governance and delivery across the Division, in line with ABB way. You

partner with the division management team to drive digitalization in the division and co-creates with

MODP functions and local units fit-to-purpose processes and solutions needed to support MODP

business strategy and drive value creation in the division.

You also collaborate closely with other IS teams as needed (Business area, IS Services, Core IS) to

ensure effective end-to-end IS delivery. Responsible for developing, implementing and running the IS

solutions and services within the Division.

The role will report to the Motion Business Area CIO and to Division President in the Division.

Vision and strategy:

The main role of the MODP Division IS Manager is to define and communicate a clear vision and strategy for IS in MODP that aligns with division objectives.

IS function management and governance: The MODP Division IS Manager is responsible for designing, building and leading a division IS function that leverages common and core IS services and implements a data and process governance model. The MODP IS Manager is accountable to manage all aspects of the IS function and is ultimately accountable for ensuring IS performance in order to meet business targets.

IS portfolio and performance:

The MODP Division IS Manager co-creates with other stakeholders the technical requirements and solutions for different process and data areas and manages the division IS project portfolio and delivery. The MODP Division IS Manager also ensures IS performance and alignment with business targets and standards.

Digitalization and innovation:

The MODP Division IS Manager drives the digitalization of MODP internal operations by bringing the digital technologies into practical use and by challenging the organization to innovate.

Stakeholder and people management:

The MODP Division IS Manager engages and influences relevant stakeholders, including senior management, to ensure division IS portfolio and services delivery. The MODP Division IS Manager also ensures effective working relationships within the team and with other functions and manages the IS staff and resources.

License to operate:

The MODP Division IS Manager manages division IS governance and ensures adherence to corporate IS policies and procedures, as well as internal and external regulations. The MODP Division IS Manager also contributes to risk management and mitigation and ensures safety and integrity standards.


Qualifications For The Role

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field
  • 15> years of professional experience in Business Information System (Demand side) with gained, ideally, in a global, cross-cultural and cross-functional work environment
  • Demonstrated ability to lead teams distributed across geographies
  • Experience developing IS strategies and architectures
  • Good stakeholder management and collaboration skills
  • Excellent Project Management skills and demonstrated experience in managing activities within a complex environment and with a matrix organization
  • Proven organizational and planning skills with attention to accuracy and detail, high degree of self-motivation and ability to work independently in a fast-changing industry.
