  • Pay range - $65 to $78/hr

Job Responsibilities:

  • Meteorologist supports Client's Meteorology's 365 24/7 weather operations
  • Serves as an operational meteorologist in Client's Weather Forecast Center
  • Manages small projects
  • Provides meteorological services for internal utility clients including Electric Operations, Energy Supply Regulatory Affairs, Safety and Shared Services, and Gas Operations
  • Responds to emergency weather and data system events after typical work hours
  • Supports the company Emergency Operations Center during emergency events such as storms and fires
  • Meteorologist assists with the development and management of meteorological data collection systems and displays
  • Be a dedicated team member and work collaboratively to solve issues

Required Qualifications:

  • BA/BS Degree in Meteorology, Atmospheric Science, or Physical Science or equivalent work experience
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Demonstrated experience in operational weather forecasting
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and in high-pressure situations
  • 3 years of relevant experience in one or more meteorology fields such as nuclear power meteorology; alternate energy development – wind, solar, wave; meteorological measurement systems; climate analysis and statistics; dispersion meteorology; meteorological information technology; or weather modification technology

Top Three:

  • Degree in Meteorology or Atmospheric Science
  • Forecast experience.
  • Fire-related knowledge or experience.
