Metal Fabricator - Nightshift

Job Description

Intermountain Electronics (IE) is a leading provider and manufacturer of custom engineered Process, Electrical Control and Power Distribution turn-key solutions to the Data Center, Industrial, Power/Utility, Oil & Gas, Mining industries in North America. Our products range from large scale one-off custom Power Distribution, Control and Process systems to standard off-the-shelf electronic/electro-mechanical components. Reporting directly to the Fabrication Supervisor we are currently seeking a Metal Fabricator for our Nightshift to be based at our Price, Utah facility .

The Metal Fabricator will fabricate, lay out, position, align, fit parts and assemble structural metal products such as framework or shells for machinery, and metal parts using a welder, cutting torch, grinder, brake press, etc.

As Major Responsibilities You Will

  • Position, align, fit, and weld together sheet material and structural steel pieces to AWS specifications.
  • Weld using MIG welder and pulse process.
  • Read and understand bending details and design diagrams.
  • Understand layout and plans sequence of operations.
  • Set up and operate fabricating machines such as brakes, shears, flame cutters, grinder, iron worker, and drill presses.
  • Verify conformance of work piece to specifications.
  • Fabricate and assembles sheet metal products.
  • Read prints and visualize what is being made.
  • Read a tape measure and other measuring devices.
  • Operate a forklift and overhead crane

Schedule

Mondays - Thursdays 4:30 pm - 3:00 am

Qualifications

Required Experience:

  • Must have the knowledge and skills to perform correct and accurate measurements.
  • Must be proficient in welding processes.
  • Ability to read and interpret design diagrams.
  • Operate and maintain various hand tools.
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with those encountered in the course of the work.
  • Requires a High School Diploma or GED, plus one to two yrs. experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds; specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus; regularly required to stand; sit; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; talk or hear, walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms.
