The Medical Assistant (MA), depending on the clinic structure, may perform administrative tasks such as answering the phones, completing paperwork, and scheduling appointments in addition to assisting in clinical duties such as taking/recording a patient’s history, preparing patients for treatment; and taking a patient’s vital signs (blood pressure and temperature) prior to treatment. They assist the delivery of quality medical care in accordance with a provider’s orders. They also act as a liaison between the patient and the provider and maximize the provider’s time with the patient.

Preferred Education: High School Diploma or GED Equivalent
Required Experience: N/A
Preferred Experience: 1 (one) year experience in MA role or Externship at Accredited MA
Program in a physician’s office, prefer physician office/clinic experience
Required License/Registration/Certification: BLS Certification through American Heart Association or American Red Cross
Preferred License/Registration/Certification: N/A
