Marschall S. Runge, M.D., Ph.D. announced today he will retire following the conclusion of his contract in June 2025. Runge has served as CEO of Michigan Medicine and executive vice president for medical affairs for the University of Michigan since 2015 and dean of the U-M Medical School since January 2016. “It has been an honor to work with, and on behalf of, our patients, faculty, staff, learners and supporters,” Runge said. “Our teams give their all, every day, to make Michigan Medicine the amazing institution it is.” Thank you, Dr. Runge! https://michmed.org/5kYkW

Steve is a night shift Emergency Department Tech who advocates for critical care changes and proactively assists in triage. His positive attitude and commitment to excellence shine through in everything he does. Melissa is an Obstetrics Nursery Tech who ensures newborns' comfort during testing and proactively organizes supplies and patient rooms. To address a nursing shortage, we partnered with Grand Rapids Community College to create the Amy Van Andel Nursing Scholars Program, supported by the UM Health-West Foundation and generous donations from Steve and Amy Van Andel.
