General Summary

As a mechanic, you will work in a boot and footwear factory with the other mechanics and the manufacturing team. The desired candidate will have previous experience in boot making or apparel sewing machines, as well as with hydraulic, pneumatic and mechanical equipment. The candidate must be a team player who can work with supervisors, plant employees and other mechanics to achieve business goals.

  • Deliver on the brand vision between all customers, corporate partners, factory, warehouse, and management to ensure that service reflect the brand strategy to meet the needs of the business.
  • Act with professional and integrity to maximize and optimize resources in support of company’s goals and objectives in serving customers.
  • Good communication skills with Maintenance Supervisor and Manufacturing Staff

  • Ensure that performance goals are achieved through proper execution of maintenance of the equipment assigned on the production line.
  • Manage workflow and update the equipment jobs log.
  • Perform verification of proper functioning of equipment after maintenance or repair.
  • Detect issues on equipment by performing preventive maintenance.
Skills & Abilities Required
  • High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • 1-5 years of industrial maintenance experience required on boot making or apparel sewing machines.
  • 1+ years of mechanical/electrical/pneumatic/hydraulic equipment experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of electrical motors operation, 110/230-volt triphasic.
  • Experience with electrical and autogenic soldering (oxygen and acetylene).
  • Prior diagnostic/troubleshooting and preventative maintenance experience preferred.
  • Demonstrated mechanical and technical aptitude.
  • Basic computer skills preferred.
  • Ability to follow manufacturers specifications and schematics.
