Master Scheduler

Job Description

GENERAL DESCRIPTION

The Master Scheduler will generate a Master plan for Production; both manufacturing and packaging by planning the timing and resource allocation for all orders to run in alignment to fulfill sales requirements and shipping dates. Will drive the adherence of the master schedule in collaboration with both manufacturing and packing teams aligning capacity and other resources.

Essential Job Functions

  • Owns and executes master production schedule to establish sequence and lead time of each operation to meet shipping dates according to sales forecasts or customer orders.
  • Liaison between Sales and Operations to ensure product is on time. Works with cross-functional teams in all areas of support for operations.
  • Identify and drive opportunities to streamline production in measurable ways.
  • Plans and communicates production lead times for production.
  • Holds weekly meetings with operations before executing schedule and commitments of new work orders.
  • Executes and utilizes ERP system for active date management through manufacturing.
  • Confers with department supervisors to determine the status of assigned projects.
  • Assigns priorities as required to department supervisors to meet on time delivery.
  • Expedites the needs of operations/materials that delay schedules and alters schedules to meet unforeseen conditions with appropriate support.
  • Prepares production reports.
  • Develops operational campaigns for bulk and FG’s
  • Inventory strategies must be based on product forecasts and product lead times.
  • Helps implement lean manufacturing strategies.
  • Expedites production activities as required to meet on time delivery.
  • Work to get the ERP/MRP system set up with planning/capacity.
  • Data oriented setup and solutions for optimal asset utilization.
  • Plans and prepares production schedules.
  • Other related duties as assigned.
  • Travel: Less than 20% is expected for this position.

Work Experience Requirements

  • Experience with ERP system. Implementation of capacity planning a plus.
  • Manufacturing/Operations data and analytical experience.
  • Minimum of 3 years- experience as a Master Scheduler, Planner in a manufacturing environment.
  • MS Office software proficiency (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) required.
  • Preferred experience working for a nutritional supplement and/or food manufacturing company

Education Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a business or technical discipline such as engineering preferred or experience commensurate required for the job.
