The job of the Engineering Manager is to plan and execute best practices and advanced methods born from manufacturing engineering knowledge that will dramatically reduce injuries, improve quality, and increase throughput within Gibson’s operating footprint. This position is commissioned to transform Gibson’s manufacturing capability through a broad lens of engineered solutions while maintaining the hand-crafted feel that customers revere. The Engineering Manager will be responsible for the Nashville USA facility.
Essential Functions
Develop and execute projects to implement technological advances within Gibson operations
Develop strategies that enable step-change performance of Gibson operations
Stay on the leading edge of automation and technical solutions that can be applied within our environment
Provide thought leadership to Gibson team in areas of process technology, automation and facility infrastructure
Build and lead highly capable team of engineers to execute advancements in safety, quality, waste reduction, capacity expansion and productivity
Collaborate with other managers and leadership to set and assess priorities across teams Active support and participation in the corrective and preventive action process, with responsibility for department deliverables
Lead overall project pipeline to achieve ongoing cost reduction goals.
Lead identification and development of CapEx projects for the facility
Collaborate with maintenance department to implement improvements and ensure preventative maintenance of all equipment is performed
Collaborate with Product Development and Materials Management to establish and maintain product drawings, specifications, bills of materials, production routers
Develop technological roadmaps for each Gibson facility
Represent operations and supply chain to Gibson leadership in professional manner
Other Duties

Required Skills/Abilities
On-display business acumen to effectively interact with executives, contractors and suppliers
Implementing and sustaining processes where none may exist
Education And Experience
Bachelor of Science Degree is required. Advanced degree is preferred.
5+ years of engineering leadership experience in a highly technical manufacturing environment making consumer goods where performance and aesthetics are critical
Must have experience with the following:
Manufacturing processes and production flow
Project management of Capex > $5M and duration > 6 months
Automation
Guitar experience preferred but not required.
Surface finishing experience preferred but not required.
