Medix is currently seeking a Manager of IT Systems Engineering for an opportunity with one of our top healthcare clients in the Southeastern US.
Our client is a smaller non-for-profit health system of ~2500 employees / 4 hospitals / 75 sites of care. Over the last several years, they have made great strides towards digital modernization. This Manager of IT Systems Engineering will be overseeing a small team handling the day to day administration and ongoing solutions engineering for the migration to Azure cloud.
TYPICAL RESPONSIBILITIES WILL INCLUDE
Serving as the personnel manager over a team of direct reports - both consultant and full-time
Building a team - including all hiring, performance evaluation, promotion and terminations, holding regular 1x1s with direct reports
Leading the creation and execution of a multi-year IT roadmap, and staying on top of technological advancements to help the organization evolve towards the cloud.
Participating in the planning and design for new tech solutions to meet the growing needs of the health system
Managing the current state of hybrid on-prem VMWare virtual environments, from design to deployment, scaling, and maintenance.
Guiding the transition to future cloud environments including Azure and Microsoft 365 suites, ensuring configurations match organizational workflows, data compliance needs, and collaboration requirements.
Leading from a technical, hands-on perspective in the day to day administration and final point of escalation.
Overseeing the architectural design, deployment, and scalability for IT systems and network solutions
Designing and managing the backup strategies, ensuring full redundancy and compliance with data retention policies
Guiding the design, implementation, and optimization of network infrastructures, with an emphasis on scalability and high availability
Serving as the SME to analyze metrics, troubleshoot bottlenecks, and ensure peak performance, zero downtime, and security in the network
Promoting and maintaining rigorous documentation standards, ensuring that all configurations and changes are well-documented and accessible.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL EXPERIENCE
Required Associate Degree or Higher
Required Minimum 7-10 years IT Experience
Required Minimum 3 years in Leadership, Managing direct reports
2-3+ years of Microsoft 365 and Azure Cloud
Strong foundation in IT Systems Engineering (Windows Server, VMWare, Storage)
Strong foundation in IT Network Engineering (Cisco Routers/ Switches)
Prior healthcare experience is preferred
