Manager, Electrical Engineering

As an Electrical Engineering Manager in the Smart Glasses organization, you will lead a team in the design and execution of our next generation devices. This role will focus on guiding career growth; establishing and tracking goals; priorities and resources across a portfolio of short- mid- and long-term projects.We want people who: work well in teams, can brainstorm big ideas, work in new technology areas, able to drive programs from a concept into a shipping consumer product.

Manager, Electrical Engineering Responsibilities:

• Manage a team of Electrical Engineers responsible for consumer electronics product development to drive products from pre-prototype to production.
• Identify key roles required for team success and recruit top engineering talent.
• Manage a wide variety of stakeholders while leading process definition for your team.
• Help incubate new technologies into research prototypes.
• Perform architecture and design reviews to ensure hardware quality.
• Work with cross-functional engineering managers and architects on hardware and software integration.
• Champion of engineering rigor in phase gate development. Create specs and measurable metrics of success to deliver to these requirements.
• Ability to travel both domestically and internationally up to 15%.
  
  

Minimum Qualifications:

• BS, MS, or PhD in Electrical Engineering or similar field.
• 7+ years as a hardware leader in a cross functional organization.
• 10+ years of direct experience in electrical design of low power SOC based devices.
• Experience working with offshore partners.
• Communication experience, with experience working with Product Design engineers and other hardware/software cross-functional functions.
  
  

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with audio, sensors, touch, wireless, batteries, and power optimization.
• Experience developing and shipping wearable devices.

$204,000/year to $281,000/year + bonus + equity + benefits
