Lone Star College-System Office employees are based at one of two System Office locations; The Woodlands and University Park. Both are the site for multiple administrative departments and system-wide training programs.

Job Description

PURPOSE AND SCOPE:

The Manager, Donor Relations is a key member of the Foundation team of Lone Star College, responsible for identifying, cultivating, tracking and soliciting donors in order to develop and implement strategies to increase resources for Lone Star College. The Donor Relations Manager will play a vital role in elevating Lone Star College Foundation and Lone Star College amongst its peers and the wider community through strategic initiatives and communication.

Essential Job Functions

  • In conjunction with the Director, Constituent Engagement, plays a strong role in identifying, cultivating, tracking and soliciting donors in order to assist with developing and implementing strategies to increase resources for Lone Star College
  • Manages a portfolio of donors and prospects to educate and engage them in LSC Foundation's work with the College
  • Integrates planned giving strategies in relationships, campaigns, and communications with donors, including marketing materials and website
  • Assists the Director, Constituent Engagement with the development and implementation of the annual LSC Employee Giving Campaign to both raise awareness of LSC Foundation (LSCF) internally and give employees an opportunity to financially support LSCF. Responsible for a high-level of coordination and oversight of all related activities
  • Assts the Director, Constituent Engagement with management of external Annual Giving Campaign in order to create an annual inflow of funding for LSCF
  • Responsible for continuous donor stewardship for portfolios, campaigns and event follow up, as needed
  • Responsible for working on special campaigns and assisting with fundraising events
  • Responsible for other reasonable, related duties and projects as assigned


Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities

  • Exceptional interpersonal communication skills, both written and oral
  • Ability to conduct research and extrapolate data into reports
  • Highly developed computer skills including the Microsoft Office Suite, database and document production, and web-research
  • Understanding and adherence to the Association of Fundraising
  • Professional's Donor Bill of Rights and the American Prospect Research
  • Association's ethical guidelines for the collection and use of information
  • Ability to maintain sensitive and confidential information
  • Professional maturity, positive attitude, persistent and resourceful, with the ability to quickly build rapport with internal and external stakeholders
  • Highly organized, self-starter, with the ability to manage multiple projects, meet urgent deadlines, and cope with competing demands simultaneously
  • Strong project management skills


Physical Abilities

The work is sedentary. Typically, the employee sits comfortably to do the work. However, there may be some walking; standing; bending; carrying of light items, such as papers, books, or small parts; or driving an automobile. No special physical demands are required to perform the work.

Work Schedule And Conditions

  • Equipment used includes, PC workstation running on a LAN in a Microsoft Windows environment, calculator, phone, and other general office equipment
  • Interface with internal and external contacts as needed to carry out the functions of the position
  • Work is performed in a climate-controlled office with minimal exposure to safety hazards


Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree and at least 3 years of experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Experience must include at least 3 years in a management level position


Preferred Qualifications

  • Certified Fund Raising Professional (CFRE)
  • Prior work experience in a non-profit setting


Salary

Hiring salary range is $54,528 - $62,707.

Lone Star College provides a hiring salary range for all posted full-time non-faculty positions. Where your salary offer would fall in that range is determined by your related experience and education.
