Job Title: Manager, A&R & Research

A little bit about our team:

300 Entertainment was founded in 2013 as an independent label and was acquired by Warner Music in December 2021. We are now 300 Elektra Entertainment. In under 10 years, 300 has launched careers of Platinum-selling, Grammy-Award winning artists, won multiple awards for marketing and digital campaigns and named one of Fast Company’s Best Places to work. At 300 we pride ourselves in taking risks, constantly evolving and being active participants in artist development. Our core values center around being of service to our artists, to each other and to our community.

Your role:

The A&R team at 300 is a fast-paced and collaborative team operating within the 300 Elektra Entertainment umbrella, working to identify, sign and develop culture defining artists. In this position, you will play a critical role in defining the sound and culture of 300 Entertainment as one of the team members who defines, signs and develops the artists on our label.

Here you’ll get to:

  • You will foster and maintain relationships with writers and producers in the creative community
  • You will work with the music publishing community to solicit and review songs for artists on our label
  • You will spend time in studios with artists with whom we are considering partnering. This will be in the Los Angeles, New York, Miami and Atlanta areas predominantly
  • You will attend a series of internal daily and weekly A&R and Marketing meetings
  • You will be responsible for maintaining communication with artists and their teams as we discussing a partnership with each artist
  • You will be responsible for attending shows for both unsigned artists and our repertoire artists
  • Contribute creative ideas to the A&R team when possible
  • Review all charts that 300 closely monitors and keep detailed stats of all new artists emerging from those charts

About you:

  • You are a detail oriented and methodical person who understands and appreciates the relationship between the details of a task and their effect on an outcome
  • You have the ability to work in a fast-paced work environment that has a level of urgency to it
  • You have a wide taste and strong passion for Hip Hop and R&B music and culture
  • You enjoy spending time looking for and discovering new artists
  • You have the ability to voice an unpopular opinion amongst a group, especially if you are the only one with such an opinion
  • You are passionate about music above anything else, and you enjoy listening to new music as soon as it comes out
  • You are open-minded to different cultures that you may not identify with
  • You are collaborative and work well in team-based environments
  • You have a strong comfort and familiarity with relevant social media platforms, and you have a genuine interest in the trends that emerge from these platforms

We’d love it if you also had:

  • Record making experience in the music industry
  • A wide network within the music industry
  • The ability to travel last minute, business pending

Salary Range

$62,400 to $80,000 Annually

Salary ranges are included for job postings where required by law. The actual base pay is dependent upon many factors, such as work experience and business needs. The pay range is subject to change at any time dependent on a variety of internal and external factors.
