What You’ll Be Doing
We’re on the lookout for a Maintenance Technician to join our Guernsey production site. Reporting to the Maintenance and Facilities Supervisor, you’ll be responsible for the day-to-day upkeep and maintenance of our production equipment, fixed assets, and the building itself.
Key Responsibilities:
Make sure our factory site and the equipment used for making cards are well maintained and running smoothly
Hit our Despatch On Time (DOT) targets while keeping up the quality and meeting daily deadlines
Do preventive maintenance to minimise downtime and keep everything running efficiently
Accurately record and report uptime
Work closely with third-party partners for maintenance contracts with suppliers of equipment like printers, insertion machines, HVAC, and other services
Collaborate with the wider team to achieve goals related to energy use, equipment uptime, maintenance costs, and staying within budget
Promote Health and Safety within the workplace to create a safe environment for everyone. Support H&S audits when needed
Keep the production and surrounding areas clean and tidy
Encourage a culture of continuous improvement and LEAN manufacturing
Work closely with other departmental managers to ensure smooth material flow and high productivity
Take on any other duties needed to help the company meet its goals
You'll be a great addition to the team if you:
Have a recognised qualification in mechanical and/or electrical engineering
Have experience in Project Management
Can make decisions and challenge when needed to deliver a great customer experience
Understand Lean principles and know how to apply them
Have experience working in a fast-paced, automated environment
Have a flexible attitude and can work in an agile way to meet daily deadlines
Can think on your feet and perform well under pressure
Communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing
Always ‘think team’ and promote a positive work environment
Are willing to work outside normal hours during peak periods when needed
