The M&A Finance Integration Project Manager play a crucial role in overseeing the integration of acquired companies into our organization. This role requires a strategic thinker with strong project management skills, a cross functional partnership orientation, and continuous improvement expertise.


The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of successful M&A integrations in the industrial sector. The desired candidate will have demonstrated success in previous finance roles in a fast-paced environment. The proven candidate will be able to significantly impact the company's strategy and shareholder value and grow within the Finance team.


This role will report to the VP of Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A), with a dotted line to the VP of Business Transformation who leads the overall integration effort.


Position Accountabilities

  • Finance Integration Strategy Development: Collaborate with senior leadership to develop a comprehensive integration strategy that aligns with the company's aggressive growth goals and objectives.
  • Project Management: Lead end-to-end integration projects, including planning, execution, monitoring, and closing phases. Develop detailed project plans, timelines, and budgets to ensure successful integration outcomes.
  • Cross-Functional Coordination: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including finance, operations, HR, IT, legal, and sales, to facilitate smooth integration processes. Ensure clear communication and alignment across departments.
  • Due Diligence Support: Support the due diligence process for potential acquisitions by assessing integration risks, opportunities, and synergies. Provide recommendations to senior management based on findings.
  • Change Management: Develop and implement change management strategies to support Finance and Accounting cultural integration, organizational realignment, and employee engagement during M&A transitions.
  • Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process optimization, cost savings, and efficiency improvements within the integrated entities. Implement best practices and standard operating procedures (SOPs) to drive continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Manage relationships with key stakeholders, including broader Harrington integration team and acquired company leadership, employees, customers, and vendors. Foster positive relationships and resolve any integration-related issues or conflicts.
  • Performance Measurement: Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to measure the success of integration efforts. Regularly track and report on progress to senior management.


The Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, finance, or a related field (MBA preferred).
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is preferred.
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in M&A integration, preferably within the industrial distribution and service sector.
  • Proven track record of successfully managing complex integration projects from initiation to completion.
  • Strong financial acumen and experience with budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Change management expertise focusing on driving cultural integration and organizational change.
  • Experience with continuous improvement methodologies (e.g., Six Sigma, Lean) is a plus.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality when working with sensitive and proprietary information.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Project management certification (PMP, Six Sigma, Lean, etc.)
  • MBA preferred
