Location: Ellsworth Community College, Iowa Falls, IA, 50126
Rate of Pay: $13.14/hour
Job Summary:
The Library Associate will be responsible for providing excellent customer service to library patrons, assisting with circulation and reference services, and performing a variety of tasks related to the daily operations of the library.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist patrons with circulation and reference services, including checking materials in and out, placing holds, and answering basic reference questions
Shelve library materials and maintain the organization of the library collection
Assist with programming and outreach efforts, including planning and implementing events and activities for library patrons of all ages
Provide support for library technology, including troubleshooting and assisting patrons with computer and internet use
Perform routine maintenance tasks, such as cleaning and organizing library spaces and materials
Assist with collection development and maintenance, including selecting and ordering materials and processing new acquisitions
Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree preferred, but not required
Excellent customer service skills and ability to work well with a diverse group of patrons and colleagues
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Experience with library technology and software preferred
Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as needed
Physical Demands:
The Library Associate must be able to lift and move library materials weighing up to 25 pounds, and must be able to stand, sit, and walk for extended periods of time.
