In order to become a new Lay Coach for Lake County Schools, an applicant will have to apply and be eligible for Athletic Coaching certification through the Florida Department of Education (DOE). An applicant will also need to have a CPR/AED/First Aid card or certificate from the American Heart Association, the American Red Cross or the equivalent from an approved FL Department of Health entity.
In Addition To Certification Fees, There Are Costs Associated With Becoming a Lay Coach Which Will Have To Be Paid By The Applicant Prior To Being Approved For Hire (subject To Change)
$75 - DOE Certification Fees
$85 - CPR/AED/First Aid
$73.25 - Fingerprinting
$20 - Drug Test Fee
Total Cost: $168.25
If you are submitted for hire as a Lay Coach, you will be contacted by a Human Resources representative to review new hire paperwork, certification and fingerprinting/drug testing requirements. Please contact the Athletic Director or designee at your desired school if you have any questions.
