Sr. Healthcare IT Director - Morgan Hunter Healthcare, Inc.

Our client, a 25-bed Critical Access Hospital located in Northwest Missouri, is currently seeking/has an immediate need for an experienced “Working” Laboratory Director to lead the staff of 5 full-time employees. This is an independent community hospital with low turnover and high engagement where the workforce is overwhelmingly confident in the future and positive growth of the hospital. As a director, you will have the opportunity to maintain patient skills and enjoy the autonomy in having a great deal of decision-making opportunities. A generous relocation allowance is also provided for the right candidate.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science degree in biology science or related field.
  • Twelve-month internship at a Certified School of Medical Technology/Affiliation with a National Registry such as ASCP (American Society of Clinical Pathologists) or equivalent.
  • Experience with CLIA requirements.
  • 5 years of laboratory management experience


Responsibilities:

  • This is a working lab director position. The Lab director is responsible for oversight and management of the daily operations of the clinical laboratory, testing services, and laboratory equipment.
  • Responsible for securing compliance of laboratory service with local, state, federal (CLIA), and possibly other regulatory agency standards.
  • Collaborate with healthcare providers, physicians, and other departments to coordinate laboratory services, interpret test results, and contribute to patient care decisions.
  • Monitor laboratory equipment, instrumentation, and inventory levels, and oversee maintenance, troubleshooting, and calibration activities to ensure the laboratory meets the established quality/service.
  • Maintain laboratory policies, procedures, and protocols in providing accurate and reliable test results, specimen processing, and reporting.
  • Responsible for one night call every two weeks and weekend call once every 4 or 5 weeks.

  • Cepheid GeneXpert
