Qualifications

Required:

  • Excellent skill in verbal and written communication, especially for the purpose of providing information to others in the laboratory.
  • Understanding of basic chemical and biological principles, especially those needed for lab work
  • Willingness to learn how to work with live animals
  • Advanced skill and knowledge of computer applications.
  • Skill in keeping accurate and complete records.
  • Ability to perform work in an accurate and thorough manner with close attention to detail.
  • Ability to be self-motivated, work with minimal supervision at times, handle multiple tasks and prioritize workload.
  • Ability to work as part of a team and establish cooperative working relationships with researchers, residents, students, and other support personnel.
  • Ability to read and understand research and clinical protocols as guidelines.
  • Organized, detail oriented, and able to quickly adapt to the addition of novel tasks.

Preferred

  • Bachelor’s of science degree in a life/biomedical science discipline
  • Ability to work with live animals
  • Knowledge of UCLA Policies and Procedures, especially for safe lab work
