Job Description

University Cancer and Blood Center is Hiring a PRN Lab Assistant.

Job Duties:

  • Tracking sendout specimens each day for accuracy in ICD and test codes
  • Daily identify patients’ tubes and labs as needed according to the lab orders and treatments
  • Distributing the tubes in correct testing areas.
  • Proficient in urinalysis and waived testing
  • Properly spin blood tubes
  • Helps maintain stock levels and distribution
  • Assist Lab Managers in filing and categorizing all Proficiency testing, IQCP, QA and other regulatory reports
  • Maintains Harvest logs such as RSO
  • Prepares kits with proper tubes and paperwork

Job Requirements:

  • 4-year Biology Degree
  • Must be able to work as a team as well as individually
  • Lab experience preferred
