The Role:

The Swim Instructor is responsible for instructing swim classes and private lessons in accordance with the class description set by Swim Coordinator and Operations Manager. Provide knowledgeable and age-appropriate water safety and swim techniques. Knowledge and execution of the 4 main swim strokes- freestyle, backstroke, breaststroke, butterfly, and elementary backstroke. Be able to discuss progress and expectations with parents and participants. Swim instruction for children: infants through teenagers. NOT adults!

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Provide a clean, safe, and healthy environment for members, guests, and co-workers
• Every staff member, regardless of position, has a primary and urgent responsibility to clean and disinfect all club components as members and guests and use them. Help retain and attain new members through club promotion and customer service excellence
• Arrive at class at least 15 minutes prior to the start of the scheduled class
• Begin and end class on time
• Instruct classes in specialization and as assigned by the Swim Coordinator
• Provide instruction and coaching to class attendees
• Accurately record class participation and conduct class surveys
• Ensure that the pool is returned to its original state at the end of each class (i.e. returning equipment)
