The Centre is one of the few organisations that are working specifically on child labour prevention and remediation, including child labour risk assessments, and planning and execution of remediation programmes for child labour victims.

The Role

Position: Junior Consultant

Department: Research & Consultancy Services

Location: United States

Reports to: Director of Global Child Rights and Business Consultancy Services

Type: full time consultant

This is a full time position based in the US.

What We Are Looking For

The Centre is looking for a consultant/team of consultants based in the US that can support The Centre on the following tasks in the US:

  • Assist with the implementation of child rights impact assessments in supply chains including onsite visits to collect data, report writing etc
  • Support the implementation of child labour remediation program activities, such as onsite assessment, development and implementation of remediation programme including monitoring visits
  • Support training delivery on child labour prevention and remediation for brands and supply chain factories/farms
  • Supporting implementation of other child rights and business projects as required

The Centre will provide tools and methodologies including trainings to the consultant/s on the above-mentioned services.

Ideal Profile

Skills, Experiences And Qualifications

  • At least 3 years of relevant work experience, preferably with at least three years’ experience in a corporate social compliance, sustainability, human rights/child rights and business or a relevant field;
  • Prior knowledge and experience gain from working with vulnerable groups such as migrant children and families as well as private sector companies and actors;
  • Master’s degree in social sciences (or equivalent professional experience);
  • Superior command of both verbal and written English (mother tongue level); working knowledge in Spanish (preferred);
  • Good understanding of current business and human rights / child rights issues, ESG and supply chain in the US;
  • Good understanding of labour laws and regulations in the US;
  • Ability to work independently and with a high level of integrity and professionalism;
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills;
  • Highly trustworthy and capable of handling highly sensitive and confidential information;
  • Present oneself as professional, innovative, creative, and a self-starter;
  • Passion for finding innovative ways to promote child rights in business operations;
  • Excellent writing skills, including proper spelling, grammar, and formatting of presentations and reports;
  • Strong organizational, time management and multitasking skills.
  • Ability to travel
