Junior Attorney

Position Overview

Our client seeks an entry-level attorney to join its prestigious Litigation Law firm in the Adult Sexual Abuse department. This position is based in the New York City Metropolitan Area and requires on-site work. The firm is looking for a proactive and motivated Associate to assist in managing a large docket of cases. The ideal candidate should be highly organized, possess excellent verbal and written communication skills, and demonstrate the ability to correspond efficiently and professionally with courts and opposing counsel.

Responsibilities

• Preparing Legal Documents: Draft and prepare various legal documents including motions, briefs, and other court filings.
• Conducting Legal Research: Perform comprehensive legal research to support case strategies and legal arguments.
• Writing Motions: Draft and file motions to support litigation strategies and advance cases through the legal process.
• Reviewing Medical Records: Analyze and review medical records pertinent to cases to support legal arguments and case strategies.
• Preparing and Responding to Discovery Demands: Draft, review, and respond to discovery requests, including interrogatories, requests for production, and requests for admission.
• Appearing in Court: Represent clients in court proceedings, including hearings, conferences, and trials.
• Drafting Complaints: Prepare and file complaints to initiate legal proceedings on behalf of clients.
• Client Communication: Maintain extensive and ongoing contact with clients through phone, email, and in-person meetings to provide updates and gather necessary information.

Qualifications

• Juris Doctorate (JD): Must have a JD degree from an accredited law school.
• Bar Admission: Must be admitted to the New York State Bar or have pending admission.
