Summary/Objective-Perform maintenance duties in designing tools, engines, machines, and other mechanically functioning equipment. Install, operate, maintain and repair of equipment such as injection molding, extrusion, auto-packing, etc.
Essential Functions
Troubleshooting: Diagnosing machine malfunctions and determining the cause with minimal downtime
Repairing: Disassembling machinery and replacing or repairing broken or malfunctioning parts
Adjusting: Calibrating and adjusting equipment to optimal specifications
Testing: Running initial batches and performing diagnostic tests to ensure the machine is running smoothly
Evaluate, install, operate, or maintain mechanical products, equipment, systems, or processes to meet requirements.
Perform preventative maintenance on injection molding, extrusion and auto-packaging machines, clean molds, augers, and other machinery as needed to ensure optimum performance.
Confer with engineers or other personnel to implement operating procedures, resolve system malfunctions, or provide technical information.
Coordinate, or monitor all aspects of production, including selection of manufacturing methods, fabrication, or operation of product designs.
Investigate equipment failures or difficulties to diagnose faulty operation and recommend remedial actions.
Test models of alternate designs or processing methods to assess feasibility, sustainability, operating condition effects, potential new applications, or necessity of modification.
Specify system components or coordinate modification of products to ensure conformance with engineering design, performance specifications, or environmental regulations.
Recommend design modifications to eliminate machine or system malfunctions.
Coordinate installation, operation, maintenance, or repair to ensure that machines or equipment are installed and functioning according to specifications.
Conduct research that tests, under direction of supervisor/manager, or analyzes the feasibility, design, operation, or performance of equipment, components, or systems.
Design test control apparatus or equipment or develop procedures for testing products.
Provide feedback to design engineers on customer problems or needs.
Analyze design, specifications, manuals, or other data to evaluate the Functionality.

Competencies
Interpersonal and communication (written and oral in English) skills required to interact with various levels of plant personnel.
Experience with injection molding and/or extrusion manufacturing machines mandatory.
Must be detail-oriented, organized, and possess ability to multi-task.
Ability to operate in a team environment.
Ability to prioritize and meet preventative maintenance goals within specified time constraints.
Ability to interpret a variety of instructions in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.
Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.
Supervisory Responsibility
This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
Work Environment
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to food scents, some food allergens, moving mechanical parts and vibration. The noise level in the work environment and job sites can be loud.
Physical Demands
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
The employee is required climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Required Education And Experience
High school diploma or equivalent certificate with 2-4 years production maintenance experience required.
Preferred Education And Experience
Food manufacturing experience preferred but not required.
