About The Role

We are currently seeking a knowledgeable and experienced Appraiser specializing in ivory for a remote, freelance position. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in evaluating and appraising ivory items, assessing their authenticity, origin, age, and market value. This position requires a deep understanding of ivory artifacts and adherence to relevant legal regulations.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct detailed examinations of ivory pieces to determine authenticity and assess market value.
• Prepare comprehensive appraisal reports that are clear and insightful.
• Stay informed and compliant with legal regulations and ethical guidelines concerning ivory.
• Collaborate effectively with fellow experts and team members.
• Offer consultation and guidance to clients regarding their ivory items.
  
  

Qualifications

• Extensive experience in ivory appraisal, demonstrating a strong understanding of ivory artifacts, their history, characteristics, and market dynamics.
• Familiarity with legal and ethical considerations related to ivory.
• Excellent analytical and research skills, with a meticulous approach to appraisal.
• Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
