About the Role: We are seeking a knowledgeable and experienced Ivory Appraiser for a remote, freelance position. The successful candidate will be responsible for evaluating and appraising ivory items, determining their authenticity, origin, age, and value. This role requires a deep understanding of ivory artifacts and relevant legal regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct detailed examinations of ivory pieces to determine authenticity and value.
Prepare comprehensive appraisal reports.
Stay updated on legal regulations and ethical guidelines concerning ivory.
Collaborate with other experts and team members.
Provide consultation and advice to clients regarding their ivory items.
Qualifications:
Extensive experience in ivory appraisal.
Strong knowledge of ivory artifacts, including their history, characteristics, and market value.
Familiarity with legal and ethical considerations regarding ivory.
Excellent analytical and research skills.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Certification or formal training in appraisal (preferred).
