WWT is currently seeking an IT Process Improvement & Operations Consultant supporting a wide range of clients in the commercial and federal space. This role is primarily a delivery role involving services for IT Process Improvement, IT Operations Readiness and Maturing ITSM practices within our strong base of Fortune 500 and public sector companies. This Consultant will be providing a multitude of services to assist clients with improving their overall IT capability, improving process efficiency, recommending automation and collaboration opportunities, and general business process improvement. The Consultant must have and will need to demonstrate excellent group facilitation skills and significant experience with at least one major industry. While this role is process centric, the Consultant must demonstrate people, tools, and compliance understanding, as it relates to process management. The person(s) we hire for this role will be part of an Enterprise Service Management Team.

The Consultant may operate in the capacity of Lead or support, depending upon specific scope elements, under the direction of the project lead. A Consultant operating in a Lead capacity is responsible for leading Professional Services consulting teams during customer projects and oversees the day-to-day operations of a project through completion. This may include reporting into a larger program team and collaborating with other divisions of WWT. The Consultant is the main contact between WWT and the customer for a project. In some cases, the Consultant will lead several customer projects concurrently.

Travel is required and will be approximately 25-40%.

What will you be doing?

The IT Process Improvement & Operations Consultant will:

  • Be the primary lead in the Operational and IT Maturity Assessment engagements for a wide variety of clients in different industry verticals
  • Assess IT and business operational challenges within an environment, identify key strategic issues and advise on best alternative course of action
  • Apply LEAN Six Sigma methodologies to achieve client desired future state goals and requirements
  • Possess the ability to work in a client environment and develop a multitude of relationships with
  • Through the application of industry standards and security best practices, develop and recommend plans to structure IT and business processes/workflows.
  • Understand the organizational interplay in all silos of IT including Storage, Network, Compute, Security and Application Development.
  • Analyze and assess client facing organizational and process challenges, identify recommendations for solutions, and define a roadmap to successfully implement such solutions
  • Develop reports and supporting presentations for both client and internal discussions

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:

  • Serve as Subject Matter Expert (SME) for application of ITIL/ITSM principles in an IT Services assessment, planning or design engagement
  • Have broad process experience LEANing IT Service Management and IT Operations practices.
  • Have broad IT operational experience leading or supporting an enterprise deployment of selected ITIL/ITSM standard processes
  • Demonstrate ability to carry out consulting activities, methodologies leading to comprehensive discovery, analysis and technical/business recommendations
  • Develop engagements to do maturity assessments or design of IT operations and major operating processes
  • Have broad experience with ITIL standards and ability to practically apply these standards in a typical customer environment, specifically processes across the ITIL Value Stream and the range of Service Operation, Service Strategy, Service Design, Service Transition and Continuous Improvement
  • Knowledge of current and upcoming security technologies and operations
  • Experience in conducting Operational Readiness Assessments
  • Experience in ITSM operations and policy development
  • Experience facilitating LEAN improvement events, Kaizens, and Continual Service Improvement projects.
  • Extensive ability to perform concurrent tasks in complex environments and adjusting priorities
  • Ability to communicate and modify approach, language, and style to different audiences
  • Extensive experience in organizing resources, establishing priorities, and leading security initiatives
  • Must have excellent communication skills, writing skills, and the ability to work with team members at all levels
  • Must be a performance-driven team player with an excellent attitude

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's Degree in an appropriate technical, business or management discipline. (Advanced Degree is preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years of industry experience in enterprise IT management, technology consulting, advisory or professional services.
  • Demonstrated experience in designing/applying operating process expertise in settings such as IT Service Management, IT Operations Management, Service Desk, Network Operations Centers, and Data Center operations.
  • Preferred certifications; ITIL, LEAN Six Sigma
  • 1-3 years experience in LEAN Six Sigma process improvement experience, with a focus on IT Service Management and/or IT Operations Management processes.
  • 1-3 years' experience as a Consultant or equivalent experience.
  • Advanced client-facing skills, including the ability to analyze complex problems, influence and negotiate with clients.
  • Demonstrated technical consulting experience in one or more of the following vertical sectors: government, public sector, higher education, finance, health care, technology, or other commercial.
