Interim Controller
Melville, NY
One of the largest financial businesses on Long Island is looking for an Interim Controller! They are a well-known, stable investment firm in need of someone with strong experience in the financial services sector. You will be involved in all of the corporate accounting and financial reporting for the company. This is a fully onsite position, no hybrid or remote opportunity here. Pay range is $100 to $125 per hour. LHH offers the opportunity to join our insurance and retirement plans after 1 month of full-time employment.
Responsibilities of the Controller position include:
Reporting directly to the CEO, you will manage a team of Accountants and operational finance associates
Will manage the month end close and financial statement preparation for the company
Involvement in the company’s budget planning and analysis
Ensure compliance with industry regulations (FINRA, SEC)
Work with outside audit and federal agencies on audit and compliance initiatives
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
15+ years of prior financial services accounting experience required; a mix of public/corporate accounting preferred
Expertise with accounting rules and regulations in the financial sector, specifically with FINRA and SEC guidelines along with associated industry licenses (24,27)
CPA and/or MBA Highly preferred
