The Role
We are seeking an instructional designer to lead our emerging efforts in providing targeted professional development programming for graduate teaching assistants. As part of our highly collaborative office culture, you will work closely with instructors at all levels to meet the evolving needs of university students and enhance the quality of education.
Responsibilities
Collaboratively create and lead programming for graduate teaching assistants and other instructors.
Share best practices in higher education teaching and learning through workshops and credit-bearing courses.
Develop hybrid or remote-accessible programming to reach stakeholders across the state.
Qualifications
Bachelor's or Master's degree preferred.
Experience as a graduate student and/or teaching assistant is advantageous.
Familiarity with instructional design based on learning theory and adult learning theory.
Ability to facilitate in small and large group contexts.
Understanding of project management principles.
Familiarity with learning and content management systems.
Proficiency with multiple operating systems including OS X, Windows, iOS, and Android.
Additional Skills
Evaluation, reporting, and implementation of collaboration and instructional technologies.
Knowledge of inclusive design and accessibility best practices.
Team building and conflict resolution skills.
Effective communication and seminar-style training delivery to faculty, students, and staff.
Adaptability to new tools and methods.
Position Details
This position is based on the campus in Fairbanks, with flexible on-site/hybrid work arrangements considered.
